we're here with one of the most highly anticipated cars of the year the kia stinger this is the Korean automakers new sporty grand touring sedan and if you needed more proof that Kia isn't the cheap second-rate automaker it once was and you weren't already convinced by all the awards it's won this stinger is it and it should help change everything you thought you knew about this brand so there was obviously a lot of hype around.

this car you know automakers are always throwing around buzzwords like excitement and adrenaline and passion and the cars just often end up being a little bit lazy and uninspired and boring but I think the key of stinger actually lives up to the hype not because it's the best performance car out there but once you drive it it becomes really obvious that Kia put everything it had into this car and that is something they can be very very proud of the other really cool thing about driving the Stinger is that people we're doing double takes and trying to snap photos of it and this is a Kia so that's kind of unexpected

 so here are the basics of this car in the US you can get rear or all-wheel drive with either a 2-liter turbo four-cylinder or a 3.3 liter twin turbo v6 and GT models and GT is the designation reserved for six-cylinder models so four-cylinder models stinger v6 models stinger GT the only transmission available is an 8-speed Auto

 I know a lot of you have been complaining that it doesn't come with a manual but there are rumors that a v8 model might be on its way which i think would make up for the lack of a manual in canada the GT model with all-wheel drive is the only one available right now but they are planning to bring the four-cylinder sometime in 2018 the four-cylinder engine puts out 255 horsepower and 250 pound feet of torque and it's pretty punchy but the engine you really want is the v6 which gives the stinger 365 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque

 it just suits the personality of the car way more and it helps it get to 60 miles an hour in just 4.7 seconds and that is surprisingly faster than the Porsche Panamera which doesn't in 5.9 seconds the stinger obviously isn't a Panamera competitor and that makes it all the more impressive the power delivery isn't violently strong but the v6 it's a lot of hustle it puts down power in a smooth and linear manner with only a little bit of turbo lag the v6 sounds shockingly aggressive when you punch it but I do wish more of that exhaust note would make it into the cabin so when driven normally
