Nissan continues to improve its already bonkers GTR and for the
2014 model year this car gets a number of minor improvements plus a new special
model.
The track edition features a unique suspension tune it also
benefits from brake cooling air ducts plus there are no rear seats in this car
and of course these improvements are in addition to a number of other upgrades
that the standard model GTR has received as well. those track Edition models
are actually limited to just the United States and they're only going to build
150 of them which actually makes the car that's parked behind me pretty special.
Now regular models of the gt-r also feature again a number of
improvements. they get a stiffer body a retuned suspension plus they've done
some engine work they've changed out the fuel injectors which supposedly make
it even more responsive at higher rpm. in addition to that they've also added a
little placard to the engine that's actually signed by the master craftsman
that hand assembles the power plant.
So after a brief test drive in this car I've got to say it is an absolute
beast I'd call it Godzilla but that's about the stupidest cliche you could
think of. now when you're driving it not a whole lot happens until the tachometer
needle hits right around 3,200 rpm after that you'd better hold on tight
because this car is like riding an explosion. it is so powerful it is so fast.
Once you're under way there's all kinds of whooshing whirring and clattering
noises as all of that technology is making you look like a superstar driver it
almost sounds like a riot in a prison kitchen or something because there's just
so much noise but it's great noise when you're driving. the Nissan GTR is a
fantastic performance car that just keeps getting better every year. this thing
can mingle with some of the most powerful supercars in the world and come out
on top for just about $100,000.
